Professional Experience
With over 20 years of experience in the Natural Resources sector, Javier Jara Cáceres specializes in corporate, judicial, and administrative advice to foreign companies doing business in Chile. He has led teams in both the private and public sectors, with a recognized track record. He has chaired Chile’s mining regulator twice in 10 years.
Javier holds a law degree from Diego Portales University, a Master’s degree in Mining Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, the Center for Energy, Petroleum, and Minerals Law and Policy, and a Diploma in Taxation from the University of Los Andes.
Due to his strong academic performance, Javier has received several awards, including scholarships in the United Kingdom, including double funding from Chevening and Rio Tinto.
Javier is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London and the Association for Petroleum Negotiators in Houston. He has taught Mining Business in postgraduate programs at Adolfo Ibáñez University.
